Admission Requirements

Bethel offers various degrees, you can get a diploma, Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Arts or a Doctor of Philosphy degree. Each degree has its own separate requirement

BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE IN CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES

This is an course in collaboration with Redeemer's University, It is our preference that all Reedemer's candidates should obtain Bethel Diploma first before joining Reedemer's 200 level. This method prepares candidates better academically and spiritually.

FOUR – YEAR DEGREE PROGRAMME

Candidates’ admission to the four year programme must obtain at least five credits in the Senior School Certificate Examination, (SSCE) or the West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE), or the General Certificate Examination (GCE) Ordinary level at not more than two sittings in subjects which shall include English Language, Christian Religious Studies and other Arts or social science related subjects.

THREE – YEAR DEGREE PROGRAMME (DIRECT ENTRY)

1. In addition to the four year degree programme requirements, candidate must possess GCE, Advanced level or Higher School Certificate (HSC) passes in at least two subjects, which shall include Christian Religious Studies.
2. Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) with distinction/ credits/ merits in at least teaching subjects including CRS.
3. Diploma in Christian Religious Studies from a recognized higher institution of learning.

MASTER OF ARTS (M.A) CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Candidates seeking admission to the Master of Arts (M.A) Degree Programme in Christian Studies must be graduates of Olabisi Onabanjo University, or other Universities and Theological Institutions recognized by Senate.

Requirements

  • The candidate must possess a minimum of Second class lower degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Sociology, Theology or Education Religious Studies.
  • In addition to (a) above, the candidate must possess at least five credits in the Senior School Certificate Examination, (S.S.C.E) or the West African School Certificate Examination (W.A.S.C.E), or the General Certificate of Education (G.C.E) Ordinary level or National Examination Council (NECO) at not more than two sittings in subjects which shall include English Language, Christian Religious Studies and other Arts or Social Science-related subjects, or possess G.C.E. Advanced Level or Higher School Certificate (H.S.C.) passes in at least two subjects which shall include Christian Religious Studies.

DURATION OF PROGRAMMES: THREE SEMESTERS

Full Time: The Programme will run on three semester basis and a maximum of four semesters. Two semesters shall be for course work while the third semester shall be for the writing of dissertation.

Part Time: The Part Time Programme will run for a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six Semesters.
